2009 Vocational Education & Training Awards

The Endeavour Vocational Education & Training (VET) Awards provide financial support for up to 2.5 years for international students from participating countries to undertake vocational education at a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in any field of study in Australia. Vocational Education & Training provides occupational or work-related knowledge and skills. The courses are traditionally non-academic and directly related to a trade, occupation or 'vocation' in which the applicant participates. These courses exclude degree and higher level programs normally delivered by universities.
Applicants must be nominated by either their home organisation/institution or the host institution.
Number of awards
Up to 60 awards will be offered to applicants from participating countries for 2009
Who can apply?
To be eligible for an Endeavour Vocational Education & Training (VET) Award, applicants must:
be citizens or permanent residents of a participating country and reside in a country other than Australia. Those holding dual Australian citizenship or permanent residency status in Australia are ineligible to apply.
be nominated by either their home organisation/institution or the host institution
have a completed qualification equivalent to the Australian Senior School Certificate of Education (Year 12)
demonstrate English language proficiency
have applied for and gained admission to a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree course in an Australian vocational education institution (conditional letters of offer will be accepted at the time of application). Information on Australian institutions and courses can be found at http://www.studyinaustralia.gov.au/
Award holders must commence their approved program and award during 2009. Applicants who have commenced or intend to commence their program at their host institution in 2008 are ineligible for an award
